14 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1:  Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a company safari guide from Bustroop safaris who will brief you about your 14 days Uganda safari, after then you will be transferred to your booked lodge for dinner & overnight rest.

However if you reach early, then you will first go for a city tour to visit places like the Kasubi tombs, Namugongo Marty’s shrine, Lake Victoria shores, Uganda museum among others.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Depart for Murchison Falls national park, shortly after breakfast. You will pass through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, lunch enroute in Masindin and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park.

You will then continue to the top of the falls, the most spectacular area in the park, where water presses its self out through 7m path down beneath 45metres with a thunderous roar.

Return back to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise

On having breakfast in the morning, you will set off early for the northern part of the park for your game drive, where you will be rewarded with spectacular sightings for wildlife in the park including Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes such as bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs etcetera. Return for lunch and later on leave for the afternoon boat cruise along the Albert Nile. Look out for water animals like crocodiles, elephants taking water, hippos and more bird species along the river banks.

Dinner and overnight stay at your booked  safari Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

On having breakfast, head for Kibale Forest National Park. You will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery of the great Rwenzori Mountains in Kasese, as well as the homesteads of local people in Hoima, tea plantations, bananas among others. Enroute you will have lunch, and later on arrive Fort Portal in the evening. Proceed to the preserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest and Bigodi swamp walk

Wake up to a breakfast treat early in the morning, then after head to the park headquarters for chimpanzee tracking guidelines. Along with the rangers you will  be transferred to the chimpanzee tracking starting point, from where you will begin your search. Not only will you search for chimpanzees, but rather chances are high that you will meet other primates such as white colobus monkeys, grey-checked mangabey, red colobus, black-and-white colobus, Baboons and bird species in large numbers like the great blue turaco, Africa pied king fisher , malkites among others. Enjoy your lunch when you return to the lodge, after when you will head for the Bigodi swamp walk to look water loving bird species. Not only is Kibale forest famous for its 13 species of primates, but also the swamp area with in it, is a bird watchers paradise. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale safari Lodge or Primates Lodge or Ndali Lodge for up market/ Chimps nest for mid range and Chimpanzee guest house for budget.

Day 6: Relocate to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park where by you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Rwenzori mountains. You will reach the  the park, early enough to catch up with your afternoon game drive, enroute to the lodge. Animals to look out for are Elephants, Leopards, Lions and Kobs.

Dinner and overnight at your reserved Lodge according tour accommodation interest.

Day 7: Game drive and Launch cruise

Take breakfast very early in the morning, the head for the early morning  game drive in Kasenyi area in the Park. You will be credited with various wildlife in the park among others Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes like bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs and so on. Lunch at the lodge, then head for the afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga commonly known as the area with the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. The launch cruise will reward you with views of the most famous water loving animals like crocodiles along the river banks, elephants taking water, hippos among many bird species. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

Start this day with an early morning game drive, instantly after breakfast in the park to look for the early risers that you may have missed out in the previous game drives. Otherwise you can head for chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Lunch at the hotel and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector commonly known for its not common tree climbing lions that usually hung on the fig tree brunches.

Reach  your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience

Set off for gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters, after your breakfast early in the morning. With the help of the ranger, trek through the thick forest of Bwindi Impenetrable national Park, as you look for the mountain gorillas. The gorilla search continues from the place where they were last seen the previous day.

On finding them, you  will be allowed to interact with them for at most as you take photographs using a flash less.

Looking for gorillas is quite tiring that it may last from 2-8 hours. Return to the lodge  for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 10: Transfer to Kabale and Lake Bunyonyi

Instantly after breakfast, relocate to Kabale “the Switzerland of Africa” because of its spectacular places and weather. Enroute you will have lunch after which you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 11: Full day at Lake Bunyonyi

Breakfast will be served in the morning, then go for the full day boat tour on the lake to various small islands. Lake Bunyonyi has 38 small islands and each was named according to the bird species that reside on the island. Enjoy lunch on one of the Islands, then after visit the Pygmy villages for entertainment. Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Depart Kabale for Lake Mburo National Park after your buffet breakfast, with a lunch treat in Mbarara.  Enter the Park through the par with enroute game drive to the lodge where you will have dinner and peaceful rest overnight.

Animals to look out for include Zebras, Impalas, bush and water bucks, Kobs among others.

Day 13: Game drive and boat ride on Lake Mburo

Proceed with your early morning game drive, after breakfast to look for early risers within the park. Look out for animals like Zebras, Elephants, impalas, bushbucks and bush duikers, waterbucks, warthogs, and the topis.

Return to the lodge for relaxation, and later on go for the afternoon boat ride to spot water loving animals such as crocodiles and Hippos. The lake is also rich with many species of birds like the rare shoe bill stork.

Dinner and overnight at  the Lodge.

Day 14: Depart for Kampala

Start your days 14 with a nature walk in the morning in Rubanga forest, then transfer back to Kampala. En route you will have a stop over at the Equator for water experiments and also get a chance to stand at a point where the two hemispheres start from. Proceed to another stop at Mpambire drum village usually  known for making village drums. Arrive in Kampala early in the afternoon.
