It is a requirement that all our clients traveling to Africa should have travel insurance which includes cover for medical treatment before commencing on your journey.

However, we offer free membership with Flying Doctors’ Society of Africa to all our clients while on safari with us. This will offer you, In the event of a medical emergency an aircraft can be dispatched to lodges or camps.

There are good quality medical facilities in the larger towns and cities should you require medical attention while on your trip. This service covers only rescue.

LIABILITY

Travel poses risks. You are therefore advised to take adequate insurance cover as we accept no responsibility for any personal illness, injury, delays, loss or damages from any cause whatsoever.

We and our agents act only as agents of the passenger in all matters relating to safaris. The appropriate law of the country dictates our liability to passengers.

TRANSPORT

If you are booking a fly-in (air) safari, your safari game drives will be operated by your chosen camp / lodge. Various types of vehicles are used for game drives, These drives may be shared with other guests – typically maximum 6 per vehicle – and there may be the option to upgrade to a private vehicle at an extra cost.

If you are booking a road safari in Kenya you can choose between a 6 seater safari minivan or a closed-sided 4×4 vehicle – both have pop-up roofs giving passengers great photo opportunities.Normally they do not have air-conditioning other than the standard ventilation fan.

We always recommend a 4×4 safari vehicle in preference to the vans – it is worth the extra cost to be in a real safari vehicle and not in the vans favoured Jeep has several advantages over safari.

These  include a higher elevation, better navigation on rough terrain, deeper reach, more comfort and brings out a better African adventure experience.

WATER

The water in many cities and small towns is purified and safe to drink, but we recommend drinking bottled water / drinks which are readily available at hotels, camps and lodges. Water from taps in bathrooms is not suitable for drinking and bottled water is provided for drinking and cleaning teeth.

ROADS:

The roads between the parks may have rough stretches and the overland journeys can be lengthy as tour vehicles are limited to a maximum speed of 80 KM per hour. Local flights between national parks / game reserves  are an (extra) option when overland transfers are exceptionally long.
