Detailed 10 Day Tanzania Southern Wildlife Safari

Day 1- Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

Morning pickup from Dar es Salaam and drive to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve). Arrive in time for lunch at the camp. Then leave for a sunset boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River, likely to spot Hippos, Crocodiles and bird life. Return for dinner and overnight at Nyerere safari camp.

Day 2-Nyerere National Park

After breakfast in the morning with your lunch boxes game. Great animal sightings including lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and all the other major species like hunting dogs and birds in the afternoon after lunch then proceed with the game while overnight Nyerere tented camp.

Day 3-  Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast with a picnic lunch drive for another day game drive in Nyerere National Park with a great chance to have plenty of time for unique wildlife encounters in this unspoiled environment. Besides the typical residents of the African bush, you can spot up to 400 different bird species. Enjoy the game drive and will have lunch in the middle of the bush. Then follow a late afternoon game drive to your lodge at sunset while dinner and overnight at Sable Mountain Lodge.

Day 4- Nyerere to Mikumi

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to Mikumi which has fascinating habitat and allows wildlife species which will often be scarce or absent elsewhere in other parks. Arrive at the camp before, later go for sunset Maasai Boma Tour. Experience Masai culture tour. Enjoy Masai dancing, clothing and their house then return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight.

Day 5- Udzungwa Mountains hiking and waterfall (Day tour)

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to Udzungwa Mountains for two hours.Udzungwa Mountains National Park is (1,990 sq km) of rainforest-covered mountains are part of the Eastern Arc range, a biodiversity hotspot home to bird species and rare primates, stopping at viewpoints to admire its misty peaks and cascading waterfalls accompanied with mountain guide.Dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Day 6- Mikumi to Ruaha

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to Ruaha national park the one home to large populations of elephants, lions, leopards, African wild dogs, buffalo, and various antelopes,take with you lunch boxes to via Iringa town, you will be passing through countryside and have nice scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains. Arrive for the evening game drive for dinner and overnight at Ruaha hilltop Lodge.

Day 7- Ruaha game drive

Ruaha National ParkAfter breakfast drive for the game drive with picnic lunch for some special mammals, such as Sable Antelope and Roan Antelope. Other common mammals here include African Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Maasai Giraffe, Common Zebra, Common Eland, Common Impala and Bat-eared Fox.Also spend time along the mighty Ruaha River, where wildlife often congregate for water. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha hilltop Lodge.

Day 8- Ruaha to Mikumi

After breakfast with a picnic lunch drive to Mikumi via Iringa town visit to the Iringa Boma Regional Museum and Cultural Centre. Housed in a historic German fort, here, you’ll find that echoes of the past meet the pulse of the present. The museum portion preserves the history of the Iringa region through cultural artifacts, archaeological finds, and exhibits detailing colonial history.Enjoy an afternoon stroll along Iringa’s colorful streets. Mingle with friendly locals at the bustling Mlandege Market, Arrive and check at Camp Bastian for rest dinner and overnight.

Day 9- Mikumi game drive

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to the park for the game drive in Mikumi National Park. It’s a long but scenic drive, as along the way, you’ll pass sprawling savanna grasslands where elephants and giraffes roam free with a great chance to see many animals like lions, zebras, elephants and many more. Take your lunch in the afternoon and proceed with game drive while dinner and overnight at Mikumi Bastian camp.

Day 10- Mikumi to Dar es salaam

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to Dar es salaam,you’ll transfer to the airport at the scheduled time to catch your flight home
