Detailed Itinerary for 10 Days Kenya Birding Tour
Day 1: Arrival-Transfer to Mount Kenya
You will be met and briefed about your 10 days birding Safari in Kenya, thereafter you will proceed on relaxed scenic drive to mount Kenya. Arrive in time for Lunch and check-in at the Hotel. Head on for an afternoon birding as you look out for Abbott’s Starling, Lesser Kestrel (a passage migrant on the moorland), Abyssinian OwScarlet-tufted Sunbird, .
You can also lookout for Jackson’s widow bird, Sharpe’s Long claw, Olive Ibis, Sledgehammer, Ayres’s hawk-eagle, African Crowned Eagle, African Grass Owl, Cape Eagle-Owl, Purple-throated Cuckoo-shrike, Long-tailed widow bird. Other birds that are rarely seen but are in the area are Abyssinian OwScarlet-tufted Sunbird, and Kendrick’s Starling can also be seen in this region.

Day 2: Mount Kenya-via Abaderes to Lake Bogoria-Lake Baringo
Rise up for breakfast early in the Morning, then proceed with an enroute drive via Aberdare National park to lake Bogoria, where you will see the Hot Springs and Gaysers. Proceed then to the Lodge for Check in and Lunch, after then you have an afternoon bird walk in the area, which comprises of more than 450 bird species.
Birds that are found in this area includes curly crested helmet shrikes, silver bird, grey silver-headed silver bill , grey-headed bush shrike, northern masked weaver including large numbers of Lesser and greater flamingos.
Apart from Bird Watching, you can also opt Boat ride on the Lake.

Day 3: Lake Baringo-Lake Nakuru
Have breakfast early in the Morning, then drive to Lake Baringo, arriving in time for Lunch. Go for evening game drive, where you expect to spot the Big 5 and some Pink Flamings, by which the Park is famous for, and not forgetting the black Rhinos.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
Depart for Maasai Mara Early enough, after breakfast. You will enjoy birding en-route as you exit the National Park, arriving in time for Lunch, thereafter an afternoon game drive and bird watching activity.
Day 5: Full Day Bird Watching
Today you will spend the entire day Bird viewing. Although Masai Mara is highly known for Wildlife, it is also an endemic bird area with the Seven globally threatened species recorded. These include; the Madagascar Pond-Heron, Pallid Harrier, Jackson’s Widow bird, Red-throated Tit, Grey-crested Helmet-shrike, Corncrake, and Lesser Kestrel,Grassland birds ,12 species of Cisticola & 53 birds of prey. Other birds in the region are Pale arctic migrants in the area including Caspian Plover, White Stork, Scavengers among other birds in this game reserve.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha
Wake up early for breakfast, then drive to Lake Naivasha-Kenya’s number Fresh water Lake. The Lake has 350 species of Birds. An afternoon boat ride is the best way to enjoy your evening. While bird to lookout for include; duck and Pale arctic waders, high density of African Fish Eagles which nest in the surrounding Acacia woodland, Grey-crested Helmeted-shrike, Basra Reed Warbler, Lesser Flamingo.
Large congregations of Red-knob ed Coot, African Spoonbill and Little Grebe are also found here.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli
You days starts with an early morning breakfast at the lodge/tented camp, then continue with the morning drive to the towering cliffs of the hell’s gate gorge, for just short break .
Arrive at Amboseli National Park in time for lunch, check in and then embark on both game and birding drive in the Afternoon.

Day 8: Amboseli bird watching
Gaze at Mount Kilimanjaro in the morning, as the sun rises to enjoy its impressive views, then after set off for bird watching before the clouds build up over the summit.
Amboseli boasts of a rich bird life with more than 400 species, out of which, you can find, Madagascar Pond-Heron, Lesser Flamingo, Lesser Kestrel , the Shoe bill and among others.

Day 9: Amboseli -Tsavo west bird watching
On this day, you will start with a short game drive as you exit the Park after an early morning breakfast. Thereafter, proceed to Tsavo West through chyulu gate reaching in your lodge in time for lunch. Take a short rest, then an evening game and birding drive comes after.
The Tsavo West is home to more than 500 bird species, which have been recorded. Common birds you expect to meet include; African Fin foot, African Darter, Great egret & Saddle-billed Stork, White-headed Vulture, Martial Eagle ,Violet Wood Hoop and many more are also found here in Tsavo West national park.

Day 10: Tsavo West – Nairobi
As we finalize this 10 days bird watching safari tour in Kenya, you will start with a game drive early in the morning. Return for breakfast, then depart Tsavo West national Park for Nairobi or Mombasa Aiport, with an enroute visit to the Mzima springs, where you will find hippos, Crocodiles and different types of Fish in crystal clear waters, Golden-breasted and Fischer’s Starling , Grasshopper Buzzard, Friedmann’s and Singing Bush Lark, Somali Bee-eater, Pringle’s Puffback, Tsavo Sunbird, Common White-throat, Brown-breasted Barbet and Quail Plover.
A number of birds also exist in this location like the Taveta-golden Weaver,
Thereafter drive back to Nairobi or to the Kenya coast beach resorts arriving in the afternoon.
