Detailed Itinerary for 12 days Kenya Family Safari Holiday Package
Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi
Depending on your arrival time, you will be met by a representative form Bushtroop Safaris & Tours, who will be your safari driver guide. He will then transfer you to you to Nairobi Serena hotel, where you will be briefed about your ongoing 12 days Kenya Family Safari.
In case you still have enough time, you can opt for a Nairobi City excursion to visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Trust, to see baby elephants as they play, feed or have a mud bath. After then proceed to the Giraffe Center, where you meet face to face with the endangered Rothschild Giraffes and feed them.
Return to Nairobi Serena Hotel for an overnight rest.
Day 2 Transfer to Sweetwaters
Have breakfast early in the morning and depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, passing through the coffee and tea plantations, reaching early in time for lunch at Sweetwater tented camp. After then head for your game drive in afternoon at the private sanctuary that has diverse wildlife such as elephants, rhino, lion, buffalo, Oryx, silver backed jackal etc. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
Day 3 Sweetwaters
On day 3 of the 12 days Kenya family safari, you will set off for a full day game drive at Ol Pejeta with with an inclusive visit to the chimp sanctuary, otherwise you could enjoy activities like guided walks, visits to the Manyatta, night game drives, Lion tracking among others, which available at the camp (at an addition cost)
Dine and have an overnight rest at Sweetwaters tented camp
Day 4 Sweetwaters to Samburu / Buffalo Springs
Following your breakfast early in the morning, you will set off with the company driver guide, for a drive to Samburu game reserve arriving in time for lunch. Thereafter, you will head for a late afternoon game drive on the edge of Kenya’s semi-desert lands where you may encounter some of the animals and vegetation that are typical of this region including; Grevy’s Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, and the Somali Ostrich, Beisa oryxes, and necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked not forgetting the croccodiles at the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Rturn to the lodge for dinner and over night at Samburu Lodge
Day 5 Samburu / Buffalo Springs
After your early morning breakfast, you will go for both morning and afternoon game drive at the reserve, with lunch at the lodge. While on the game drive, expect to see animals among others leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes. While more of the animals tend to gather together near the life-giving Ewaso Ng’iro River.
Return for dinner & overnight at the Lodge.
Day 6 Samburu to Mount Kenya
Drive to the Mountain Lodge arriving in time for lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure to watch the animals that come to the watering hole. Dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge.
Day 7 Mount Kenya to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha reaching the most spectacular Fresh water Lake in time , then proceed for lunch at Naivasha Sopa lodge. Relax and proceed for the afternoon Boat ride on the lake, as well as game walks on the Crescent Island.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge
Day 8 Lake Naivasha /Lake Nakuru
Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive after an early morning breakfast. Return to the Lodge for lunch, then after embark on an afternoon game drive and return for dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Day 9 Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Wake up early for breakfast, then depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, driving through the Maasai town of Narok reaching in the early afternoon for lunch in Mara Bush Camp. Inter the Late afternoon, you will head for your first game drive to look for the famous ‘BIG FIVE’ animals and other various game that roam the vast plains. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
Day 10/11 Masai Mara
After breakfast early in the morning, you choose between fullday game drive at the park with picnic lunch, or go for morning game drive, and afternoon game drive with lunch at the Camp.
Both options offer many activities for both parents & children to participate in while at the Camp. Evenings at leisure to unwind around a campfire under the African stars whilst reminiscing about your day in the wild. Overnight will be at the Camp
Day 12 Masai Mara to Nairobi
In the morning drive from the Mara to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon. Transfer to Nairobi’s JKIA for your departure flight.
However, you can also extend your trip, by heading to Mombas to relax at the beaches such as Diani, Watamu Malindi
