Detailed Safari of 12 Days Kenya Lodge Safari
Day 1 – Nairobi/Amboseli
Morning drive to Amboseli Park at the foot of the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 – Amboseli National Park
Full day gamedrives next to the magnificent mountain
Amboseli National Park is located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The ecosystem mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 3 – Amboseli/Tree Hotel
Gamedrive then drive via Nairobi to the Aberdares to an exciting Tree Hotel or lodge overlooking floodlit waterholes.
Experience this whilst, watching wild animals at Treetops, enjoying refreshments in a forest glade at Shimba or enjoying a cup of tea on the manicured lawns of Outspan.
Day 4 – Tree/Hotel/Samburu
Continue north across the equator to the Northern Frontier to enjoy the different scenery and wildlife including Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe. Lunch then a gamedrive.
Day 5 – Samburu
Full day to enjoy the different scenery and wildlife including Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe
Samburu Reserve, established in 1985, is an arid, hilly region with riverine forests, doum palms, acacia woodland and scrubland, offering a dramatic and rugged landscape in a rather remote location of Kenya – which is precisely the attraction of this reserve – fewer tourists in a wildlife rich, desert like setting amidst a colourful local tribe.
Day 6- Samburu/Sweetwaters
Early gamedrive then drive to the sweetwaters to enjoy the facilities or take an optional tour to the nearby Sweetwaters Reserve or Mt Kenya
A sheltered oasis, clustered around a water hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.
Day 7 – Sweetwaters /Lake Baringo
Morning drive via Nyahururu Falls down to Lake Bogoria. Later drive to the beautiful lake Baringo. Evening bird walk. Accommodation at a lodge.
Day 8 – Baringo/Lake Nakuru
Morning boat ride on the lake. Lunch, then drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru. Gamedrive.
Day 9 – Nakuru/Maasai Mara
Morning drive across the Rift Valley down to the Maasai Mara. Lunch and later an afternoon gamedrive
Masai Mara is the most famous wildlife conservation area in Kenya and indeed the world. This game reserve is home to a rich variety of wildlife in a natural and untouched state. Masai Mara has a rolling savannah landscape dotted with shrubs and bush thickets, and is the Kenyan part of the large ecosystem stretching south to Serengeti in Tanzania.
Day 10/11 – Maasai Mara
Two full days to experience the Mara magic! Kenya’s premier reserve is famed for its phenomenal wildlife. You may want to ride in a Balloon over game before landing for a Champagne Breakfast at an extra cost of US$450 per person.
Day 12 – Maasai Mara/Nairobi
Early morning game drive then return to Nairobi
