11 Days Kenya camping safari takes you on budget camping safari in Kenya for 11 days to Amboseli national Park, Mount Kenya, Samburu National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park & Masai Mara national Reserve.

Detailed Itinerary For 11 Days Kenya Camping Safari Package

Day 1 – Nairobi/Amboseli

Morning drive to Amboseli Park at the foot of the snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro. Lunch then a game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite

Day 2 – Amboseli

Full day game drives next to the magnificent mountain. Dinner and overnight at the campsite

Amboseli National Park is located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The ecosystem mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 3 – Amboseli/Mount Kenya

Gamedrive then drive via Nairobi. Visit the mau mau caves where the freedom fighters used to hide. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.

Day 4 – Mount Kenya/Hotel/Samburu

After breakfast, continue north across the equator to the Northern Frontier to enjoy the different scenery and wildlife including Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe. Lunch then a gamedrive. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 5 – Samburu

Full day to enjoy the different scenery and wildlife including Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries

Day 6 – Samburu/Lake Baringo

Morning drive via Nyahururu Falls down to Lake Bogoria. Later drive to the beautiful lake Baringo. Evening bird walk. Accommodation at the campsite.

The Lake Bogoria National Reserve covers 107 km sq and is easily reached from either Nakuru or Lake Baringo. It is better to visit the Lake either in the early morning or late evening, as it is fiercely hot at midday and so staying in the area is probably the best option.

Day 7 – Baringo/Lake Nakuru

Morning boat ride on the lake. Lunch, then drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru. Gamedrive. Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel

The park lies in Central Kenya, 140km north-west of Nairobi, in Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

Day 8 – Nakuru/Maasai Mara

Morning drive across the Rift Valley down to the Maasai Mara. Lunch and later an afternoon gamedrive. Dinner and overnight at a campsite.

The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Maasai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to about 452 species have been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park

Day 9/10 – Masai Mara

Two full days to experience the Mara magic! Kenya’s premier reserve is famed for its phenomenal wildlife. You may want to ride in a Balloon over game before landing for a Champagne Breakfast at an extra cost of US$450 per person. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 11 – Maasai Mara/Nairobi

Early morning game drive then return to Nairobi
