Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests will transfer to Emara Hotel for check-in and a chance to freshen up. The afternoon offers an opportunity to explore some of Nairobi’s local attractions, such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or the Giraffe Centre, if time permits. The evening is reserved for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, followed by a relaxing night to prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha
The next morning, after an early breakfast, guests will depart for Lake Naivasha, a scenic drive of about two hours. Upon arrival, they will check in at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge and enjoy lunch. The afternoon includes a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where fish will be provided for baiting to attract and photograph fish eagles and other bird species. Following the boat ride, a visit to Crescent Island offers a walking safari with stunning landscapes and wildlife photography opportunities. In the evening, guests will return to the lodge for dinner and an evening of photo review and relaxation.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
On the third day, after an early breakfast, the journey continues to the Masai Mara, which will take approximately 5-6 hours with scenic stops along the way. Upon arrival at Mara Mashia camp, guests will check-in and have lunch. The late afternoon will feature the first game drive, capturing wildlife during the golden hour. After returning to camp for dinner, there will be discussions about the day’s experiences and planning for the next day’s shoot.
Days 4-9: Photography Safari in Masai Mara
For the next six days, the routine will include early morning game drives to capture wildlife in the best light, followed by a return to the camp for a mid-morning breakfast. The midday will be spent at leisure in the camp, allowing time for photo editing, relaxation, or guided walks, and lunch. Afternoon game drives will continue until sunset, with evenings spent back at camp for dinner and discussions or presentations on photography techniques.
Day 10: Transfer to Egle view Camp in Masai Mara
On the seventh day, after an early morning game drive and breakfast, guests will check out and transfer to their second accommodation at Camp. Upon arrival, they will check-in and have lunch, followed by a late afternoon game drive in a new area, offering different landscapes and wildlife photography opportunities. The evening will be spent back at the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Days 11: Photography Safari
For the day in, the daily routine will remain consistent with early morning game drives, returning to the camp for breakfast, midday relaxation or photography workshops, lunch, and afternoon game drives until sunset. Evenings will include dinner and optional activities such as night game drives or star photography sessions.
Day 12: Departure from Masai Mara
On the final day, guests will enjoy breakfast and check-out. The midday and afternoon will involve transferring back to Nairobi, with an option for a domestic flight to reduce travel time (At an extra cost). Depending on the flight schedule, there may be time to explore Nairobi or shop for souvenirs before transferring to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for departure.
