Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary
This 24-000 acre reserve saddling the Equator enjoys magnificent views across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, and has an abundance of wildlife and tropical vegetation. Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the closest reserve to Kenya’s Capital City Nairobi to boast all of the “Big 5” game – Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo. Detailed Itinerary To Meru, Sweetwaters, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara 7 Days
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Meru National Park
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where your guide will warmly welcome you. After a short briefing, embark on a scenic drive to Meru National Park. Known for its unspoiled wilderness and diverse wildlife, Meru offers an enchanting start to your safari. After check-in at your lodge, enjoy a late afternoon game drive where you might spot lions, elephants, and Grevy’s zebras. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay amidst the serene backdrop of Meru.
Day 2: Exploring Meru National Park
Spend the full day discovering the beauty of Meru National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you across different habitats, from lush riverine forests to open savannahs. Visit the iconic Adamson’s Falls and the area where Elsa the lioness was released into the wild, made famous by the book “Born Free.” Keep an eye out for rare species like gerenuks and oryxes as you soak in the park’s tranquility.
Day 3: Transfer to Sweetwaters (Ol Pejeta Conservancy)

Day 4: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
Leave Ol Pejeta after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its shimmering pink flamingos and other birdlife. Check into your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Besides the birdlife, Lake Nakuru is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild’s giraffes. As the sun sets over the lake, return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to the Masai Mara
Wake up early for a final game drive in Lake Nakuru, where you might spot leopards lounging in the acacia trees or buffalo grazing along the shore. After breakfast, begin your journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for a late lunch at your camp. Later, enjoy an evening game drive, where you’ll get your first glimpse of the Mara’s abundant wildlife.
Day 6: Full Day in the Masai Mara
